Real Madrid turn Valdebebas into an all-day advertising production hub

Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training base was transformed into a vast film set for an unprecedented commercial shoot, with almost the entire squad brought together to complete a substantial part of the club’s advertising commitments for the season, according to Marca.

The usual rhythm of work at the training centre was largely suspended for the day as cameras, production crews and filming areas were installed across the facility. From early morning onwards, Real Madrid players appeared in front of the lenses one by one, fitting the commercial work around their football responsibilities.

Some took part after gym sessions, while others were filmed following treatment with the physiotherapist or during recovery work. Further players passed through the set before taking part in training, allowing the club to use practically the whole squad during a single day of production.

The scale of the operation meant that the schedule had to be adjusted. Jose Mourinho moved the training session to 17:00 to keep the first half of the day available for filming and to give the players time to complete their advertising appearances.

The manager was also involved in overseeing the shoot. Mourinho walked through the filming areas twice during the day, checking on the work as the different players moved between their football duties and the commercial set-up.

One minor complication involved Jude Bellingham, who is an ambassador for Louis Vuitton. Questions were raised over whether his individual advertising commitments could be combined with the requirements of the other brands involved in the shoot.

That issue was resolved relatively quickly, allowing the wider production to continue without a significant disruption. The work continued well into the evening as the remaining players completed their scheduled appearances.

The final footballer left the cameras after 20:00, bringing an end to a production that had begun 12 hours earlier. The unusually intensive schedule enabled Real Madrid to deal with a large proportion of its commercial obligations in one day, while the club’s training base temporarily operated as a major advertising location rather than its normal football workplace.

The scenes at Valdebebas reflected the number of commitments involved in managing a squad whose players have individual partnerships alongside the club’s own commercial agreements. By concentrating the filming into one extended session, Real Madrid were able to gather almost all of their footballers at the same base and complete much of the required work before the day finally ended.
