Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber missed the Netherlands’ group training session during the international break as he continues his recovery from injury.
Timber is working separately from the rest of the squad under an individual programme designed to manage his return to full fitness.
Voetbal International reports that Arsenal has been in direct contact with the Netherlands coaching staff. The two parties have agreed a specific workload plan for Timber to monitor his physical condition during the international period.
The defender was absent for Arsenal’s English League Cup match against Ipswich. He then played for about an hour in the Gunners’ most recent Premier League fixture against Brighton.
Timber is expected to miss the Netherlands’ upcoming match against Germany.
