Guinea will make their debut at the UFOA-A U17 tournament on Friday, 11 September 2026, when they face Liberia at 16h00 GMT at Stade Lat-Dior in Thies.
The match is the opening fixture of the competition for the Syli national cadet side and forms part of Group B. Liberia have already played once, drawing 1-1 with Mali in the group’s first game.
The group has since been reduced to three teams following the disqualification of Guinea-Bissau, increasing the importance of every remaining fixture.
A win would give either Guinea or Liberia an early advantage in the race for the semi-finals. Guinea will be aiming for a positive start to their campaign, while Liberia will look to build on the point secured against Mali.
With only three teams now competing in Group B, the result at Stade Lat-Dior could prove significant when the final standings are decided.
