Alexander Golovin would “take a step backwards” if he chose to return to the RPL, according to former Russian Football Union vice-president Alexander Tukmanov.
Tukmanov said the Monaco midfielder should not go back to the Russian league while Russian clubs remain suspended from European competition.
“Everything is going well for him at Monaco, so there is no reason to change anything,” Tukmanov added.
He suggested Golovin might consider moving to an RPL club towards the end of his career.
