Tottenham could revive Amine Gouiri interest if Richarlison leaves

Tottenham are considering renewing their interest in Olympique de Marseille forward Amine Gouiri during the upcoming winter transfer window, according to journalist Ekrem Konur.

The London club are understood to be weighing up a fresh approach for the Algeria international at the request of manager Roberto De Zerbi, who wants to add greater depth and flexibility to his attacking options.

Tottenham examined the possibility of signing Gouiri during the summer transfer window, but no deal materialised. The club’s plans were affected by the fact that Richarlison and Dominic Solanke ultimately remained in north London.

The situation could change in January, with Richarlison’s future described as uncertain. Tottenham’s hierarchy would reportedly be willing to consider the Brazilian forward’s departure, potentially creating room for the club to reopen discussions over Gouiri.

Gouiri is valued for his ability to operate in several attacking roles, an attribute that could appeal to De Zerbi as he looks for more alternatives in the final third. The Italian manager also knows the player well from their time together at Marseille and could encourage Tottenham to pursue the Algeria international.

However, no official approach is expected in the immediate future. Tottenham are first likely to establish what happens with their current forwards before deciding whether to begin formal discussions over a possible move for Gouiri.

The 25-year-old’s contract with Olympique de Marseille runs until 30 June 2029. According to Transfermarkt, he is valued at 30 million euros and earns 4,550,000 euros per year in France, equivalent to 2,957,500,000 FCFA.

Marseille are due to face Toulouse in the ninth round of the French championship. Any decision on Gouiri’s future, though, is expected to depend primarily on Tottenham’s attacking requirements and the outcome of the club’s assessment of its existing forwards.

For now, Gouiri remains under contract with Marseille, while Tottenham’s interest has not progressed to an official proposal. The possibility of a January move could become clearer if Richarlison’s position at the club changes.
