Nigerian youngster Suleman Sani has completed a surprise transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah after just eight months with German Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The 20-year-old Nigerian youth international departs Leipzig without making a competitive appearance for the club, having joined the German side from Slovakian club AS Tren?ín in January 2026.
According to reports from Sky, as cited by Bild, the transfer could rise to €8 million, with Sani set to sign a three-year contract with an option to extend for another season. The deal was completed on the final day of the Saudi Arabian transfer window.
Sani began his senior career with Akwa United before moving to Europe, where he joined Tren?ín in September 2024.
He quickly attracted attention in Slovakia, registering 16 goals and seven assists in 59 competitive appearances. His performances subsequently earned him a move to Leipzig for a reported €5 million, with the Bundesliga club handing him a contract running until June 2031.
However, injuries and intense competition for places in Leipzig’s attacking ranks made it difficult for the youngster to establish himself in the first team.
Sani spent part of August training with Leipzig’s youth team and was left out of the senior squad for the club’s opening Bundesliga fixture of the 2026/27 season.
His move to Al-Qadsiah now presents the young winger with an opportunity to relaunch his career, gain valuable first-team experience and establish himself in the Saudi top flight.
For Leipzig, the transfer could also represent a significant financial return on their investment, despite Sani leaving the club without making a competitive appearance.
