Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay has been given medical clearance to resume competitive football after undergoing treatment for a heart arrhythmia.
The 29-year-old Scotland international had a planned ablation procedure at Manchester's Spire Hospital in September after doctors diagnosed a mild, benign arrhythmia.
McTominay has since completed additional tests, which confirmed that he is fit to play. He has now rejoined Napoli training and can be considered for selection by manager Massimiliano Allegri.
“Scott McTominay underwent further diagnostic tests, which showed that he is fit to play. The Napoli player therefore resumed training with the rest of the team after the period spent training separately,” the club said in a statement.
The midfielder has been absent since Napoli's 3-2 Serie A defeat by Inter Milan on 30 August. During his time out, he also missed the club's Champions League defeat by Arsenal.
Napoli are ninth in the Serie A standings and host sixth-placed Frosinone on Saturday, when McTominay could be available for selection.
