Paris FC have agreed a one-season contract extension with midfielder Adama Camara, keeping the 29-year-old at the club until 2028.
The deal follows a significant period in Camara’s career, during which he made his first two appearances for Mali in the latest international break. The agreement was reported by Le Parisien.
Retaining Camara had become a priority for Paris FC in recent weeks. Talks between the club and the player have now concluded successfully, rewarding his rapid development since joining the Parisian side.
Camara has established himself as an important part of the club’s plans. Over the past few seasons, he has become a dependable midfielder who has continued to perform as the demands placed on the team have increased.
His route into professional football has been unusual. Camara joined Paris FC from Racing CFF in the summer of 2023, when the club was playing in National 2. He was 26 when he made his professional debut.
Before that, the Mali international had worked in a number of jobs, including as a postman, bus driver and delivery driver. His football career then accelerated quickly after his move to Paris FC.
Since arriving at the club, Camara has progressed from National 2 to Ligue 2 and then on to Ligue 1. His rise has been matched by a steady increase in his involvement at senior level.
He has now passed 100 league appearances for Paris FC. That total comprises 66 matches in Ligue 2 and 34 in Ligue 1, underlining the speed of his ascent through the French football pyramid.
Camara is now set to continue his development in the capital while beginning his international career with Mali. His latest contract extension represents another milestone for a player who, only a few years ago, was working outside the professional football spotlight.
Paris FC are due to play their sixth match of the French championship against Lorient shortly.
