Ousmane Dembele nominated for Ballon d’Or a year after winning in Paris

Exactly one year ago, on 22 September 2026, Ousmane Dembele was crowned the world’s best footballer at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.

The Paris St-Germain and France forward won the award with 1,380 points. Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal finished second on 1,059 points, while Dembele’s Paris St-Germain team-mate Vitinha was third with 703.

Mohamed Salah, who collected 657 points, and Raphinha, with 620, completed the top five.

The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony will be held in London on 26 October. It will be the 70th presentation of the award for the world’s best footballer.

Dembele, who received the prize last year, has been nominated again.
