Olivier Verdon has completed a move to Maccabi Netanya FC, ending speculation that the Benin international would join Servette FC in Switzerland.
The 30-year-old defender has signed a two-season contract with the Israeli club, which includes an option for a further year. The transfer follows the end of his spell with Bulgarian side PFK Ludogorets, which he recently left by mutual agreement.
Verdon enjoyed a highly successful period with the Bulgarian giants, winning 13 trophies during his time at the club. His move to the Israeli top flight represents a new challenge for the experienced central defender.
He will now bring his physical strength and tactical experience to the heart of Maccabi Netanya FC’s defence as he begins the next chapter of his career.
