Twenty-five top-flight coaches have begun a two-module CAF A-License coaching course in Abuja, marking Nigeria’s return to the CAF A-License Convention after a nine-year gap.
The intensive programme, which combines theoretical and practical sessions, started in the Federal Capital Territory on Monday.
It is the first time Nigeria has organised a CAF A-License course in the past nine years. During that period, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) continued to run coaching programmes at D-License, C-License and B-License level.
The NFF also held an exclusive CAF C-License course for women in 2025. That programme consisted of three modules delivered over three months.
The current CAF A-License group includes coaches from Nigeria’s various National Teams, as well as managers working with Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) clubs.
The opening module will run for five days. NFF Acting General Secretary Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme is scheduled to formally declare it open on Wednesday.
The second and final module of the course will be held next month.
