Milan great Gianni Rivera opposes commercial name for new stadium shared with Inter

The proposed Generali Stadium has drawn criticism from former Milan captain Gianni Rivera, who is among those unhappy with the name chosen for the clubs’ future home.

The stadium project was unveiled on Friday, with the new arena set to host home matches for both Milan and Inter. Its name comes from a naming-rights agreement with Generali, the well-known Italian insurance company, a deal expected to provide significant income for the two clubs.

Milan and Inter will meet in the league on Saturday.
