Manchester United could replace Michael Carrick with Como manager Cesc Fabregas if the club’s poor start to the season does not improve, according to indykaila News.
The club’s hierarchy is expected to give English coach Carrick until the November international break to change the team’s fortunes. If Manchester United’s form remains unchanged after that point, the club could take decisive action over his position.
Fabregas is understood to be a serious candidate to succeed Carrick should the latter leave Old Trafford. The 39-year-old Spaniard is currently in charge of Italian side Como.
The former midfielder is well known to English football supporters from his spells with Arsenal and Chelsea. He also led Como to Champions League qualification at the end of last season.
