Madagascar head coach Corentin Martins has chosen a 25-man squad for the country’s opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Nigeria and Tanzania.

Martins reduced his selection from an initial provisional list of 55 players, with the final squad largely made up of footballers based outside Madagascar. A small number of players from the Malagasy domestic league have also been included.

The Barea begin their qualifying campaign away to Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Friday, 25 September. The Matchday One fixture will be played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Madagascar will then face Tanzania’s Taifa Stars at home four days later in their second qualifying match.

The squad is expected to assemble for a training camp this weekend as Martins prepares his players for the two fixtures.
