Liverpool are considering a €50m bid for AS Monaco and Senegal midfielder Lamine Camara during the winter transfer window, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The Reds are looking to strengthen their midfield and have identified the 21-year-old as one of their leading targets. Liverpool’s interest is based on Camara’s potential and his performances in the centre of the pitch, with the English club keen to complete a deal as early as January.
A €50m offer would be intended to persuade Monaco to consider selling one of their important players midway through the season. However, it remains uncertain whether the French club would be willing to allow Camara to leave during the campaign.
Any formal approach from Liverpool would give the situation added momentum, but Monaco would still have to decide whether the proposed fee was enough to part with their Senegal international.
Camara’s future was already the subject of significant attention last summer, when he came close to joining Chelsea. Negotiations appeared to be progressing positively, but the transfer ultimately failed to go through.
The midfielder has continued to attract interest from several clubs since then, underlining his growing reputation in the European transfer market. Liverpool’s reported interest represents the latest development surrounding his next move.
Camara is valued at €55m by Transfermarkt. He earns €1,380,000 (897,000,000 FCFA) per year in France, and his current contract with AS Monaco runs until 30 June 2029.
The Senegal international joined Monaco after establishing himself as a promising midfielder and has since become an important part of the club’s squad. His technical qualities and potential have helped make him a sought-after player, while his long-term contract gives Monaco a strong position in any negotiations.
The timing of Liverpool’s interest could depend on Monaco’s sporting priorities. The club is due to face FC Nordsjaelland in the fourth matchday of the league phase of the Conference League, with Camara’s availability potentially significant as the season continues.
For now, there has been no indication that an official offer has been made. Liverpool are reported to be prepared to put €50m on the table, while Monaco must determine whether to retain Camara until the end of the season or consider a major proposal for his services.
