Liverpool have identified Senegal international Lamine Camara as one of two final options under consideration as they look to strengthen their midfield during the approaching winter transfer window.
The recruitment team at the Merseyside club is understood to have been impressed by Camara’s vision and work rate, qualities he has demonstrated on European pitches. The midfielder is now reportedly part of a final shortlist drawn up to add greater energy and creativity to Liverpool’s midfield.
Liverpool will face competition for Camara, however, and must also assess another priority target on their reduced list: Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott.
The interest in Camara reflects his growing reputation on the international stage. A move to the Reds this winter would represent a significant step in his career, giving him the opportunity to experience the demands and intensity of the Premier League.
His arrival would also provide Liverpool with additional midfield options for the second half of the season.
