Liverpool have identified Brentford right-back Michael Kayode as a leading target for future transfer windows, according to CaughtOffside.
The 22-year-old Italian defender of Nigerian descent has also attracted interest from Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham, who are monitoring his progress.
Kayode has established himself as an important member of the Brentford side since joining the club. His performances and potential have drawn the attention of several leading English clubs, with his versatility and ability to influence matches from the flank seen as particularly attractive.
Liverpool are understood to be especially impressed by Kayode’s qualities and have made his signing a priority target. However, they face competition for the defender, with Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham also believed to be following his situation closely.
There is interest from Italy too, with Juventus and other Serie A clubs reportedly aware of Kayode’s performances.
Brentford are not expected to make a departure straightforward. The London club have reportedly set an asking price of between 60 and 65 million euros for the defender, who is under contract until 2032.
No official offer has been made at this stage. Liverpool are continuing to assess the situation before deciding whether to make a formal approach.
Kayode’s market value is estimated at 40 million euros by Transfermarkt. He previously played for Fiorentina.
Brentford’s next fixture is their sixth match of the English league season, against Aston Villa.
