RB Leipzig could receive a further €2.5m if Yan Diomande wins the Ballon d’Or during his career, according to information from Philipp Hinze about the Ivory Coast winger’s transfer to Real Madrid.
The deal was reportedly agreed at an initial fee of €125m, with a further €15m available in performance-related bonuses. One of those provisions is linked to the prestigious individual award, meaning Leipzig would collect an estimated €2.5m if Diomande eventually claims football’s biggest individual prize.
The clause underlines the scale of Real Madrid’s expectations for the 19-year-old, who is regarded as one of the most promising young players in African football.
Diomande’s pace, technical ability and skill in creating opportunities in the final third helped attract the attention of the Spanish club. His progress has also contributed to his rising valuation, with Transfermarkt now estimating his value at €120m.
The Ivory Coast international has signed a contract with Real Madrid until 2033, giving him a long-term platform to continue his development in the Spanish capital.
Diomande could therefore become an important figure for Real Madrid while also offering Leipzig the possibility of a significant future return. His potential to compete for the Ballon d’Or remains a long-term ambition, but it is one already reflected in the financial structure of the transfer.
