Philip Otele, the Nigeria winger currently at Basel, is being linked with a move to Italian club Lazio in Serie A.
The reported transfer is rated at 95%, although no agreement has been confirmed. Otele is valued at €4m and remains under contract with Basel until 30 June 2028.
The 27-year-old has made four appearances in the Swiss Super League this season, playing 181 minutes without scoring or registering an assist. He has also featured once in the Swiss Cup.
Otele joined Basel permanently from Al-Wahda in July 2025 for a reported €3m fee, having initially arrived at the Swiss club on loan six months earlier. He spent part of last season on loan at Hamburg before returning to Basel at the end of June.
The winger was part of Basel’s Swiss championship-winning squad in the 2024-25 season, when the club also won the Swiss Cup. His previous notable campaign came in Romania, where he finished as the SuperLiga’s leading scorer with 18 goals for UTA Arad in 2023-24.
A move to Lazio would take Otele from Switzerland’s Super League to Serie A, but the reported interest has not yet resulted in a confirmed transfer. For now, he remains a Basel player with two years left on his contract.
