Doma United will put their 100% start to the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season on the line when they visit Kano Pillars on Matchday 4 on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
The newly promoted side have won all three of their matches, scoring five goals without conceding, and sit top of the table with nine points. They will face Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium, where the home side hope to bring their winning run to an end.
Doma United began their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Sporting Lagos before narrowly beating Inter Lagos 1-0. Their most notable result came in their next match, when they recorded a 2-0 win against former league champions Enyimba.
Coach Deji Ayeni’s team have quickly established themselves as the early pace-setters following promotion. Their disciplined defensive record and strong results have made them the surprise package at the start of the season, but they now face an experienced Kano Pillars side seeking greater consistency.
Kano Pillars have collected four points from two games and are seventh in the standings under coach Daniel Ogunmodede. They opened with a 2-2 away draw against Kwara United and then secured a 3-2 victory over Niger Tornadoes.
The hosts will look to take advantage of playing at the Sani Abacha Stadium as they attempt to narrow the gap on the leaders. The fixture brings together Doma United’s early momentum and Kano Pillars’ status as one of the competition’s traditional big clubs.
Previous meetings between the teams have been closely contested, including a 3-1 home win for Kano Pillars in an earlier season. However, the current campaign’s form gives Doma United the stronger record heading into Sunday’s match.
Barau seek to stay unbeaten
Another surprise package, Barau, will attempt to preserve their unbeaten start when they travel to face Ikorodu City in a Saturday fixture.
Barau are second after three matches, with seven points from two wins and a draw. Ikorodu City are also unbeaten after two games and occupy fifth place with four points.

Enyimba, Warri Wolves and Inter Lagos will enter Matchday 4 hoping to secure their first points of the season.
Enyimba are 18th and Warri Wolves 19th after losing their opening two matches. Inter Lagos are bottom of the table, having suffered defeat in each of their three games so far.
