Jack Grealish wants to remain at Everton on a permanent basis next summer, despite interest from Aston Villa, according to Football Insider.
The 31-year-old Manchester City winger is spending the current season on loan at Everton and is aiming to convince the club that he should stay beyond the end of the campaign.
Everton are understood to be open to keeping Grealish if he can impress the club’s management and coaching staff during his time at Goodison Park.
Grealish has made two Premier League appearances for Everton this season but has yet to register a goal or assist.
His contract with Manchester City expires next summer, meaning he could leave the club as a free agent. That would allow him to decide his next move without a transfer fee being required.
A permanent switch to Everton would therefore depend on Grealish’s performances during the season and whether the club can agree personal terms with the player. Aston Villa, where Grealish previously played, are also interested in signing him.
