Ismaila Sarr is expected to remain at Crystal Palace after a summer in which the Senegal international was repeatedly linked with a move away from Selhurst Park.
According to Sky Sports, the club are now considering extending the 28-year-old forward’s contract, even though he is already under agreement with the Eagles until June 2029.
Discussions have taken place between Sarr’s representatives and Crystal Palace officials, but the two sides have yet to reach a final agreement. Further adjustments are still required before a new deal can be completed.
Sarr’s recent performances have strengthened his position. The forward has continued to produce consistently for the London club, maintaining his value in the transfer market and attracting attention from several leading Premier League sides.
Crystal Palace therefore want to secure his future rather than risk uncertainty around a player who remains under a long-term contract. However, the negotiations have not yet reached the point where an extension can be formally confirmed.
Galatasaray monitoring situation
Galatasaray are also continuing to follow developments closely. The Turkish club made a formal offer for Sarr during the summer transfer window, but have adopted a more cautious approach while waiting to see how the discussions between the player and Crystal Palace develop.
Journalist Ekrem Konur reports that Galatasaray are not currently involved in direct negotiations with Crystal Palace. The Istanbul club are instead monitoring the situation before deciding whether to make another official approach.
A renewed bid remains possible if Sarr fails to agree an extension with the Eagles and the financial conditions prove favourable for Galatasaray. The Turkish side are prepared to consider re-entering the race for the forward in those circumstances.
Sarr, who was born in Saint-Louis, is valued at €45m by Transfermarkt. His annual salary is reported to be €4,348,684, equivalent to 2,826,644,600 FCFA.
For now, his immediate focus remains Crystal Palace’s next Premier League fixture. The Eagles are due to face Nottingham Forest in their sixth match of the English league season, with Sarr still part of the squad while the negotiations over his future continue.
A move away from Selhurst Park has not been ruled out, but there are currently no direct talks between Crystal Palace and Galatasaray. The outcome of the contract discussions will determine whether the Turkish club take the matter further.
