Arnaud Yao will not join Hassania Union Sport Agadir after the Moroccan club pulled out of an agreement to sign the Burkina Faso forward.
A deal had been reached in principle for Yao to sign a three-season contract, but the transfer could not be completed after the player’s medical examination failed to produce a satisfactory outcome.
The decision was confirmed by an internal source at Hassania Agadir, quoted by Africafoot. Following the results of the medical, the club chose to end its pursuit of the attacker rather than proceed with the proposed move.
The collapse means Yao will remain without a transfer to Hassania Agadir, despite an agreement having already been reached over the length of the contract. The process had moved as far as the medical stage, but the Moroccan side ultimately decided not to continue with the deal.
Yao’s proposed move had represented another opportunity for the forward to continue his career outside Burkina Faso. However, the agreement with Hassania Agadir has now fallen through, leaving the player facing another setback in the transfer market.
The attacker scored 12 goals in Fasofoot for Racing Club de Koudougou (RCK), a record that had helped attract interest in his services. Those performances had placed him in contention for a move, but they have not been enough to secure the transfer to Hassania Agadir.
The failed agreement is also the latest unsuccessful move involving Yao. His potential switch to TP Mazembe had previously broken down, meaning the proposed transfer to Hassania Agadir has now become the second recent opportunity to close without an agreement being completed.
For Hassania Agadir, the decision brings an end to negotiations that had reached the point of a planned three-year contract. For Yao, the outcome means his next club remains undecided after the medical issue prevented the Moroccan deal from being finalised.
The news also underlines the importance of the medical stage in completing a transfer. Although Hassania Agadir and Yao had reached an agreement on a three-season contract, the process was not concluded because the examination was not considered conclusive by the club.
Yao’s 12-goal campaign with Racing Club de Koudougou remains the key sporting detail behind the interest in him. But after the failed move to TP Mazembe and the collapse of the Hassania Agadir deal, the Burkina Faso forward will now have to wait for another opportunity.
