Hakim Ziyech has officially signed for Botafogo, with the Morocco international moving to Brazil after agreeing a deal with the club currently 14th in the Brazilian championship.

The 33-year-old left-footed player will now begin a new chapter away from the African continent, having previously represented Wydad Casablanca. Ziyech made 16 appearances for the Moroccan club and scored nine goals.

His move to Botafogo, first reported exclusively by Africafoot, follows several days of deliberation. The former Chelsea player took time to consider the offer before giving his final approval and agreeing to take on the challenge of playing in Brazil.

Ziyech’s contract with Botafogo runs until 31 December 2028. His current market value is estimated at €2.2m, according to Transfermarkt.

The Moroccan will now look to settle quickly in his new surroundings and establish himself in the squad as Botafogo continue their Brazilian championship campaign.

Botafogo’s next fixture will come in the 27th round of the Brazilian championship against Bragantino. The published match odds list Botafogo at 2.10 to win, with a draw priced at 3.20 and a Bragantino victory at 2.85.
