Frosinone ended the ninth round of Serie A with a convincing victory over Lecce, underlining the club’s progress since returning to Italy’s top flight.
Their 22 goals after the opening nine matches represent the highest total ever recorded by a newly promoted team at that stage of a Serie A season.
Frosinone have also become the first side promoted from Serie B to collect 17 points from their first nine games in the top division. The last team to achieve the same points tally at that stage was Juventus in the 2007/08 season.
After the opening quarter of the campaign, Frosinone sit sixth in the Serie A table.
