Frosinone set new Serie A scoring record in 5-1 win over Lecce

Frosinone scored five goals in a Serie A match for the first time in their history by beating Lecce 5-1 at home in the ninth round of the season.

The result marked a new record for the club, who first played in Italy’s top flight in 2015. Although Frosinone had previously conceded five goals in a Serie A game, they had never reached that total themselves.

Their previous best was four goals in a match, achieved for the first time on 27 January 2019 against Bologna.

Frosinone had also scored four times on two occasions earlier this season before their meeting with Lecce. The victory moved them into sixth place in the Serie A table.
