Fermin Lopez says he wants to remain at Barcelona for as long as possible and hopes to retire with the club, ending speculation about a possible move away from Catalonia.
The 23-year-old has been linked with Manchester United, but made clear that he is not considering an exit.
“Manchester United links? I don't pay attention to that kind of news. I want to stay at Barca for as long as possible,” Lopez said.
“I hope to end my football career at this club and retire here.”
Lopez has faced increased competition for a place in Hansi Flick’s midfield. Rodri’s arrival has intensified the debate over his role, with Spain’s captain appearing to be Flick’s preferred option alongside Pedri and Dani Olmo at Estadio Camp Nou.
However, Lopez has continued to demonstrate his importance to the squad. After completing a full pre-season, he has scored six goals across LaLiga and the UEFA Champions League.
An injury ruled him out of contention for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but his form since returning has strengthened his case for a prominent role at Barcelona.
