Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, continued their preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with a 1-0 victory over hosts Poland in a friendly on Friday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The encounter was played at the Municipal Stadium in Brzeg, Poland, as Coach Moses Aduku used the fixture to assess his players ahead of the global tournament.
Mary Mamudu scored the only goal of the match in first-half stoppage time, giving the Falconets a timely boost ahead of their World Cup campaign.
Nigeria, who have finished runners-up at the U-20 Women’s World Cup on two occasions, will play their final warm-up match against the Republic of Korea on Tuesday, September 1, at the Remes Sports Leisure and Spa Stadium in Poland.
The Falconets will open their World Cup campaign against Spain on September 7 before taking on China on September 10. They will complete their Group F fixtures against New Caledonia on September 13.
The victory over Poland provides Aduku’s side with another encouraging result as the team enters the final stretch of preparations for the tournament.
