Inter’s latest Milan derby loss has given Christian Chivu an unwanted place in the fixture’s history, with the Romanian now having lost his first three meetings with Milan.
Chivu is only the third manager to suffer defeat in each of his opening three Milan derbies between Milan and Inter, across all competitions.
He follows Leonardo, who lost two derbies while in charge of Milan and another against Inter between 2009 and 2011, and Massimo Giacomini, who was beaten in all three matches as Milan manager between 1979 and 1980.
Chivu has been in charge of Inter since the summer of 2025.
Inter’s next Serie A fixture will be away to Como on Sunday, 8 November.
