Chelsea defender Reece James has had a minor operation on his knee, the club have confirmed.
The 26-year-old has already begun his rehabilitation, although Chelsea have not given a timetable for his return to action.
James sustained the injury during a training session before Chelsea’s Premier League match against Bournemouth, which took place on 10 October and ended in a 5-1 victory for the London club.
The England defender has made four appearances in the Premier League this season and has received one yellow card.
Chelsea are fourth in the league after six rounds of matches.
