Cameroon's Boyomo backs Lookman for CAF Awards

Published on: 05 December 2024

Cameroon defender, Flavien Enzo Boyomo has thrown his weight behind Ademola Lookman to win the 2024 CAF Men's Player of the Year award, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Lookman, who helped his club win the Europa League, is among the five players shortlisted for the prestigious award.

The other nominees include Simon Adingra, Serhou Guirassy, Achraf Hakimi, and Ronwen Williams.

However, Boyomo, who plays for Spanish club Osasuna, believes Lookman stands out from the rest.

"I believe Lookman will win the African Ballon d'Or," Boyomo was quoted as saying by Actu Cameroon.

"He won the Europa League and he is the one who has the best chance of winning the trophy this year."

Boyomo's endorsement adds to the growing list of supporters backing Lookman for the award.

The winner of the 2024 CAF Men's Player of the Year award will be announced at a ceremony later this year.
