The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced the postponement of the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda 2024 to August 2025, Nigeriasoccernet.com can confirm.

Despite significant progress in infrastructure development across the three host nations – including stadium construction and upgrades, training field improvements, and enhancements to hotels, hospitals, and other essential facilities – CAF's technical and infrastructure experts have advised that additional time is necessary to ensure all venues meet the high standards required for a successful CHAN tournament.

These experts have been actively involved in on-site assessments in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe expressed his gratitude to the Presidents of the host nations: "I extend my sincere appreciation to President William Ruto of Kenya, President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania, and President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda for their unwavering leadership and commitment.
