Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of Nigeria international Femi Azeez from Millwall for an undisclosed fee, with the winger agreeing a four-year contract at the Premier League club.
The 25-year-old joins the Seagulls after an outstanding 2025/26 campaign in which he played a key role in Millwall’s run to the Championship play-offs. His performances earned him selection in both the PFA Championship Team of the Season and the EFL Championship Team of the Season.
Brighton sporting director Mike Cave said the club were pleased to have secured one of the division’s leading attacking players after finally reaching an agreement with Millwall.
“We are delighted to add Femi to the squad. He arrives off the back of an excellent season with Millwall, having played a key role for them as they finished in the playoffs,” Cave told the club’s official website.
“He was one of the most exciting attacking talents in the Championship, and we’re delighted to have finally agreed his transfer. We are now looking forward to working with him.”
Azeez made 77 appearances for Millwall in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists. His transfer to Brighton represents the latest step in a rapid rise through the English football pyramid.
He began his development in Watford’s youth system before moving into non-league football with Northwood. The winger subsequently played for Wealdstone and Hanwell Town, gaining senior experience before earning a move to Reading in 2019.
Azeez continued his progress at Reading and joined Millwall in 2024. Two seasons later, his form has taken him into the Premier League with Brighton & Hove Albion.
He has also made a strong beginning to his international career with Nigeria. Azeez scored twice on his debut for the Super Eagles against Zimbabwe’s Warriors in May, adding another significant landmark to his development.
Brighton’s recruitment of Azeez strengthens their attacking options while giving a player who has progressed through several levels of English football the opportunity to establish himself in the Premier League.
His arrival follows a season in which he became one of the Championship’s most highly regarded attacking talents. The four-year agreement means Brighton have secured his services on a long-term basis, although the fee paid to Millwall has not been disclosed.
