Barcelona sporting director Deco says the club has made significant progress towards extending Raphinha’s contract, while negotiations over new deals for Xavi Espart and Marc Bernal are also under way.
Raphinha, who signed his current Barcelona agreement two seasons ago, has two years remaining on his contract at the Camp Nou. Deco said the Brazil international is expected to extend his stay until 2030.
The 2026/27 campaign has begun particularly well for Raphinha, who has scored nine goals and provided three assists in Barcelona’s opening six league matches. His form has helped the club adjust after the summer departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres.
Raphinha has also made clear that he would like to end his playing career at Barcelona. The 2024 arrival of Hansi Flick has coincided with a significant revival in the forward’s fortunes.
Speaking during Barcelona’s general assembly this weekend, Deco said the discussions with Raphinha had reached an advanced stage.
“We are quite advanced with Raphinha’s renewal,” he said.
Deco then revealed that an agreement had been reached in principle to extend the player’s contract.
“I can say here publicly that yesterday afternoon we agreed to extend Raphinha’s contract for more years. I think Rapha will be with us for the next four years.”
Bernal and Espart are both currently contracted to Barcelona until 2029. Deco said the club would now deal with the administrative aspects of their renewals.
“Marc Bernal and Xavi Espart too. These are administrative matters that we are going to take care of during this week, but I wanted to explain a little about the renewals here.”
