Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has joked that goalkeeper David Raya may eventually return to Spain – but only after he has finished playing for the London club.
Arteta suggested Raya’s homecoming could happen at the end of his career, with the goalkeeper expected to remain with Arsenal until then.
Raya has made 11 appearances for Arsenal during the 2026/2027 season, conceding seven goals. He has kept seven clean sheets in those matches.
The goalkeeper also represents Spain, with whom he became a world champion.
