Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler has reached an agreement in principle on a new contract with the Spanish club, according to The Athletic.
The Turkey international’s existing deal is due to expire in 2029, but the proposed extension would keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until the summer of 2032.
Guler, 21, has become an increasingly important member of the Real Madrid squad. He has started three of the club’s four LaLiga matches so far this season under new boss Jose Mourinho, who is understood to be a strong admirer of the midfielder.
The agreement means Guler is set to continue his development in Madrid after making 119 appearances for the club, contributing 19 goals and 26 assists.
