Ronald Araujo says it is “too early” to decide whether he will make his move to Liverpool permanent in 2027.
The Uruguay international joined Andoni Iraola’s side on a season-long deal before the 2026/27 campaign after falling down the pecking order under Hansi Flick at Barcelona.
Araujo’s switch to Merseyside has revived a career disrupted by injuries. He has been used at right-back under Iraola, while Jeremy Jacquet has partnered Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk in central defence.
Liverpool are reportedly considering activating the €55M purchase clause included in the original agreement, but the 27-year-old says he is not yet ready to make a decision about his future.
“I think I'm finding what I needed here, which was to play, feel important and show my level,” Araujo said.
“It's too early to talk about other things.
“I'm getting playing time, which is what I wanted, and then we'll see what happens in the future.”
Araujo has featured in all seven of Liverpool’s top-flight matches this season, starting five of them. He has also started all three of the club’s UEFA Champions League games.
