Napoli manager Massimiliano Allegri launched into a furious dressing-room reaction after his side’s 1-1 draw with Fiorentina in the Italian championship.
According to Il Mattino, Allegri was angered less by the result than by the players’ attitude during the match. He considered Napoli’s performance unacceptable and far below the standard expected of a team with such ambitions.
The report says the manager hit the dressing-room walls with his fists, shouted and delivered a severe criticism of the team’s display after the final whistle.
Allegri demanded an immediate change from his players, having seen a lack of hunger, aggression and determination to win.
