Alidu Seidu returns to Rennes squad as Nice consider late move

Alidu Seidu has returned to full training with Stade Rennais and has been included in the club’s UEFA Europa League squad, despite uncertainty over his future.

The Ghana international had been expected to leave Rennes throughout the summer but did not secure a move before the official transfer window closed. His return to normal training in Brittany has not ended interest from other Ligue 1 clubs.

OGC Nice remain interested in signing the versatile defender and are considering whether to make a move soon using France’s joker rule. The regulation allows clubs to sign a player from another team in France outside the usual transfer window.

Rennes must now decide whether to keep Seidu as they prepare for their European campaign or complete a late sale to a direct Ligue 1 rival.
