Sergio Aguero believes Gabriel Jesus can revive his goalscoring form at Barcelona and score between 10 and 15 goals per season for the La Liga leaders.
The former Manchester City striker has backed Jesus to make a success of his move to the Spanish club after the Brazil international left Arsenal during the summer transfer window.
Jesus has signed a three-year contract with Barcelona, who completed the transfer from Arsenal for a reported fee of £12.85m.
The 29-year-old was widely expected to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer, but his move to the La Liga champions was still regarded as a surprise after an injury-affected campaign in which he scored six goals in 27 appearances across all competitions.
Barcelona have brought in Jesus after losing Robert Lewandowski this summer, with manager Hansi Flick seeking a replacement for the experienced striker.
Jesus is the third player to join Barcelona from a Premier League club during the summer, following the arrivals of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle and Rodri from Manchester City.
Aguero said he was confident Jesus would benefit from the way Barcelona play, drawing comparisons between Flick’s approach and the methods used by Pep Guardiola during Jesus’ time at Manchester City.
"Gabriel Jesus can bring a lot to Barca. Pep (Guardiola) used him when we needed a more forward striker and he had a very clear role. Flick has a similar style."
Jesus spent several seasons working under Guardiola at Manchester City before moving to Arsenal. Although he scored six times last season, Aguero pointed to the difficulty of finding the net regularly in the Premier League and suggested the change of environment could help the forward.
"In the Premier League it's really tough to score goals, it's very complicated. I think he can easily score 10 or 15 goals per season."
Aguero also offered his assessment of Rodri, another summer arrival at Barcelona who previously played alongside him at Manchester City.
"Barca will enjoy Rodrigo. He plays very simply and positions himself very well, he plays as a team, he backs up well... He anticipates the play. It's not the same watching him on TV as it is on the field."
Rodri’s arrival means Barcelona have added another familiar Premier League name to their squad, while Jesus will now compete for a central attacking role under Flick.
The former Manchester City forward could make his Barcelona debut on Sunday, when the club travel to Valencia looking to claim another three points.
Barcelona currently sit top of La Liga, and Jesus will hope to begin his time at the club by helping the leaders maintain their position. His arrival gives Flick an additional attacking option following Lewandowski’s departure, while Aguero expects the move to provide the platform for the Brazilian to rediscover his best form.
