The 25-year-old forward has been in fine form this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 14 UEFA Champions League matches, including qualifiers. His performances against European giants like Inter Milan, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, and Bayer Leverkusen have significantly boosted his confidence.

In addition, Olatunji has netted six times in 19 Czech Liga games for third-placed Sparta Prague, further strengthening his case for a Super Eagles debut.

Olatunji: "I’m Ready for the Super Eagles"

Speaking from the Czech Republic, Olatunji expressed his ambition to don the green and white jersey, believing he has what it takes to contribute to the national team’s success.

“I know that I have what it takes to showcase my talent in the Super Eagles jersey, although I am not forcing myself on the team,” he stated.

“I believe the coach has a plan, and if I am opportune to make his squad, I will make Nigerians proud. Having helped Sparta Prague win the league and cup titles, I can boldly say I am good enough for the Super Eagles.”

With Nigeria set to face Rwanda and Zimbabwe in next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Olatunji hopes to earn his first invitation to the national team.

“It is obvious that the Super Eagles are blessed with lots of talented forwards, but I think my addition will further fire the team to glory,” he added.

With his current form and UEFA Champions League exposure, Olatunji could provide another attacking option for Nigeria as they push for World Cup qualification.
