Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel is set to leave Fenerbahce at the end of the season after failing to agree on a contract extension with the club, according to reports made available to Nigeriasoccernet.com.

The 27-year-old’s contract situation has been a major talking point at Fenerbahce since the start of the campaign, with the club eager to tie him down to a new deal. However, negotiations have stalled due to differences over salary demands.

Salary Dispute Forces Fenerbahce to End Talks

Osayi-Samuel, earning less than €3 million per year, has reportedly asked for a significant pay rise. However, Fenerbahce has refused to meet his demands, prompting the former Queens Park Rangers star to stand firm on his decision.

According to Mackolik, the club has now ended negotiations and accepted that he will leave as a free agent when his contract expires this summer.

Interest from English Clubs

Several Premier League and Championship clubs are monitoring Osayi-Samuel’s situation, with Crystal Palace, Fulham, and Leeds United reportedly interested in signing him.

The defender was recently spotted at Selhurst Park during one of Crystal Palace’s matches, further fueling speculation of a potential move back to England.

With his departure now inevitable, Osayi-Samuel will have the freedom to choose his next destination, with a return to English football looking increasingly likely.
