Reports say Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho and his staff have never questioned Bernardo Silva’s ability, despite the midfielder’s restricted involvement in recent matches.

The Portugal international has featured in only one of Real Madrid’s past three La Liga games, playing eight minutes.

Ben Fernandez Santos, a journalist covering Real Madrid, reports that the club is waiting for Silva to regain full physical fitness rather than considering his absence from the team a concern.

Silva has played seven matches in all competitions this season and has recorded one assist.

Real Madrid’s next La Liga fixture is at home to Sevilla on 18 October. The ninth-round match is scheduled to begin at 22:00 Moscow time.
