Onyeka sustained a knock during Coventry City’s 2–1 victory over Stoke City at the Coventry Building Society Arena last weekend.

The Nigerian international was substituted 10 minutes after the restart, with Victor Torp coming on in his place.

Speaking after the match, Lampard explained that the defensive midfielder has been dealing with fatigue.

The former England international also revealed that the 28-year-old has had limited training time during the week due to the issue.

“He hasn’t trained much this week, but he’s due to train, so we’ll see how he is for tomorrow,” Lampard said.

Onyeka’s fitness will be assessed ahead of the clash in the EFL Championship as Coventry City look to maintain their momentum.
