Fullkrug sets new Werder scoring mark with eighth consecutive goal

Niclas Fullkrug scored again as Werder Bremen beat Hoffenheim 2-0 in the eighth round of the German championship, extending his remarkable start to the season.

The striker has now found the net in all eight of Werder Bremen’s matches since the campaign began. His latest goal moved him beyond the record set by Rudi Voller, who scored in each of the club’s first seven games in the 1982-83 season.

Voller had held the Bremen record until Fullkrug’s latest achievement made it eight goalscoring appearances in eight matches.

Werder Bremen’s next Bundesliga fixture is against Stuttgart. The match is scheduled for Saturday, 7 November.
