Emmanuel Dennis has been reunited with former coach Valerien Ismael after Blackburn Rovers appointed the former Watford tactician as head coach following the exit of John Eustace, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The pair had worked together in Watford before Dennis exited Nottingham Forest. They are now back together, but it's only going to be a short spell for the Nigerian international whose loan deal expires at the end of the season, with Valerien signing a long-term deal valid until June 2028.

With a career spanning the Championship with West Bromwich Albion and Watford, along with a stint at Turkish giants Be?ikta?, the 49-year-old brings significant managerial experience to his new role. Notably, his appointment marks a historic milestone as he becomes the first French head coach in the club's history.

Emmanuel Dennis would be hoping to get involved in Valerien's first game in charge as they welcome Norwich City on Saturday.
